Prefer the Cookie Store API when it exists, then normalize ordinary script-readable cookie access and optional change polling when that browser capability is unavailable.
An original dependency-free browser adapter for one explicit cookie name. It feature-detects Cookie Store reads and change events, validates bounded cookie tokens, normalizes found, missing, unavailable, and error results, falls back to an injected ordinary document.cookie reader where permitted, preserves equals signs and malformed encodings safely, filters unrelated native events, and offers bounded host-injected polling with idempotent cleanup.
Simply put:
